Reservation and Shipping information

  • All puppies are wormed at least three times, given their first vaccines, and are taken to the vet for a "well-puppy checkup".  They come with registration papers from either AKC or APR.

Reservations

  • Reservations are accepted on current or upcomming litters.
  • A $100 deposit will hold a puppy.
  • Picks from the litter are given in the order in which the deposit was received.
  • The puppies are available until a deposit is received.
  • All of the deposits are transferable to another litter if a suitable puppy is not found in the current litter.
  • Puppies are available to go to their new home between 6 and 8 weeks of age.  On occassion, we will keep a puppy longer for someone until the timing is convenient.

Shipping and Delivery

  • We do make several trips to the Twin Cities area to deliver puppies.  We try to work with new owners to deliver puppies if they like, at a mutually convenient time and place.  Of course, prospective puppy owners are welcome to drive out to pick up their puppy also.
  • On occassion, we will meet new owners at their request at another mutually agreed upon place within a two hour driving distance from our residence.

When distance requires airline transportation, the following applies:

  • The cost of shipping is the responsibility of the new owner.
  • Generally, the puppies are shipped COD and shipping is paid for at the airport where the puppy is picked up. Occasionally due to flight times or carrier, prepayment must be made.
  • Shipping has increased a bit due to fuel surcharges by the airlines. They are currently charging approximately $225.
  • An additional fee of $50 is needed to cover the cost of a flight kennel and USDA Health Certificate.
  • We need to keep an eye on the weather and temperatures when shipping a puppy.  Northwest, Delta and United have temperature restrictions.  It can't be above 85 degrees at time of loading and at unloading of the puppies.  In the winter it must be above 10 degrees for Northwest and above 20 degrees for Delta and United.  Continental Airlines has indoor loading and unloading, so they do not have temperature restrictions.
  • Payment in full is expected before puppy will be shipped.  We ask that payment be received several days before shipping so that processing is complete before shipping date.
